Recreation of MacGillivray's journey from The Falls of Feugh along the River Dee.

On 7th September 1819 William MacGillivray, one of Scotlands finest naturalists began a journal charting his walk to from Old Aberdeen to London. He set off on 8th September - walking from Old Aberdeen to Charleston of Aboyne noting as he walked the flora and fauna he observed.

200 years later, we will follow in his footsteps and recreate a portion of his journey from The Falls of Feugh along the River Dee.Accompanied by Helen Young, Countryside Ranger and representatives from the RSPB we aim to make our own observations on the bird and plantlife that is now to be found in this same area and compare it to that observed by MacGillivray.

This event is part of a programme of events supporting the 'Walking with Birds' exhibition in The Gallery.
