Encircling the Atrium of the Ground Floor of the Sir Duncan Rice Library, we now have an exciting display of umbrellas representing and highlighting neurodiversity at the University of Aberdeen.
The Umbrella Project is an initiative run by the ADHD Foundation to raise awareness of and celebrate all neurodivergent conditions. You may have seen similar displays in Ship Row and Union Square.
Library staff have collated a Reading List full of interesting resources about neurodiversity, and are happy to take ideas and suggestions for content from all students and staff. Please contact us via library@abdn.ac.uk
The Student Advice and Support Office has a wealth of resources and advice available for both new and returning students, covering a range of topics from academic concerns to disability support, money worries and counselling. More information can be found via the New Students webpages.
The new University-wide Neurodiversity Network is also welcoming members across the campus. This growing community seeks to open & influence conversations regarding working and studying here; increasing awareness and understanding of neurodiversity among our staff and students. There are several events planned and a rolling programme of information and resources designed to reduce stigma and challenge stereotypes. For more information and to join, please visit the Network's webpage.
