When studying online or off-campus while at University, rest assured that you can still access help and support should you need it. There are a range of services available to help you make the most of your time with the University of Aberdeen.
Online Support from the Library
From 18th September, Library staff are offering 30-minute appointments via MS Teams to offer support on subject-specific topics from using Primo to subject research and Reading Lists to referencing. More information and booking instructions can be found on the Learn to Use Your Library webpage.
Alternatively, 10-minute drop-in sessions on Blackboard Collaborate are also available. Please contact us via library@abdn.ac.uk to make an appointment.
Academic Support
Our Student Learning Services (SLS) can provide further assistance on matters regarding planning essays, academic writing and researching for dissertations and thesis. They can also advise further on avoiding plagiarism and referencing. More information can be found on the Online Learners webpages.
Student Support
The SLS are only one of a range of teams at the University that can assist you. Our Assistive Technology team and Disability Advisors are ready to provide items in alternative formats and access to any specialist equipment that you require. Please contact SLS for more information.
If you're looking for part time work and career advice, the Careers and Employability service would like to hear from you. They will be able to help with CV building, interview preparation and planning for post-University life. Different advisors are on hand for a range of subjects, and hold regular workshops and events across the Library services; with Taylor Library hosting a series of drop-in sessions next week.
IT Support
Finally, IT support will help with any connectivity and Wi-Fi issues alongside any more complex technical problems. The IT service desk can be found on Floor 1 of the Sir Duncan Rice Library, and you can also contact them online.
To find out more information on any of these activities, please visit the Online Learners webpages. We are all here to help!
