Are you interested in digital technology and film as part of your studies? Or looking for new resources to illustrate points in teaching or research? Then please explore Box of Broadcasts (BoB), which is available via Primo to all UoA students and staff.
BoB is part of Learning on Screen, a charity dedicated to supporting access to film, TV and audiovisual resources for teaching and research purposes. The online platform hosts a wealth of curated playlists on topics ranging from poverty & inequality to medicine and supply chain management to Shakespeare. It also contains UPITN, focusing on the history of the news in the 1970s.
Other resources include courses in Filmmaking and Copyright Law & guides on creating video essays. Finally, the Viewfinder Magazine archive has articles and reviews on varied topics.
You can access BoB via Primo: use the Find Databases option and please sign in as the University of Aberdeen when prompted. Please also note that due to licensing regulations, you cannot access this service if you are overseas.
If you need any help or support with BoB, please don't hesitate to ask any of the Library staff. Alternatively email library@abdn.ac.uk. We are happy to help and look forward to hearing from you.
