Research for dissertations and projects for PGT students
In this session we'll provide an overview of the search skills, techniques and resources needed for successful literature searching, in support of dissertations and projects. There will be hands-on time for participants to try out search methods.

Tuesday 12 November:
Academic Integrity, referencing and RefWorks for PGT students
Academic Integrity: how does this relate to dissertations? We will discuss plagiarism, collusion and contract cheating (including the latest AI software). General tips and advice on how to avoid plagiarism in terms of correct referencing and citing conventions will also be provided. We will also look at the web-based reference management software RefWorks.

Wednesday 13 November:
Word: Working with Long Documents for PGT students
This tutor-led course is aimed at students working on their thesis or dissertation using MS Word. We will look at applying page and section breaks, inserting images and tables to your document, using captions, creating cross-references and more.
