On the 27th of March 2025, Dr Eddy Wifa participated in a panel discussion on the topic “Energy, ESG and Business: Why Should SMEs and Young Professional Care”. The session was organised by a renowned Nigerian based law firm-Gadell Law Practice and was moderated by the firms lead councel, Mrs Deborah Lucky-Deekor. Other speakers included Mrs Joy Osomiamhe-O, Just Energy Transition and Sustainability Specialist and Dr David Editang, a business development expert. The discussions sought provide valuable insights into the complexities of the energy transition in Nigeria and the role of ESG advancing sustainable business practices. In his presentation Dr Wifa, presented multiple scenarios that define the energy transition and argued no country should be left behind. While acknowledging the gaps and limitation in existing regulatory and governance structures, he provided innovative solutions and argued for the adoption of more organic and radical approaches to resolving the twin-challenges of climate change and energy crisis in Nigeria.
