AUCEL seminar: Energy Policy Making: A Practitioner's Perspective
-
This is a past event
We will have coffees/sandwiched in the room for 12.30 so please do come early.
We are pleased to welcome back to Aberdeen, our LLM alumna, Anca Mihalache, who is now the Head of Smart Energy Policy at DESNZ.
The presentation will provide an overview of the energy policy-making process in Great Britain, from identifying problems, developing policy solutions, and implementing these, emphasising the need for evidence-based decision-making and alignment across government and industry. The presentation gives the example of energy flexibility (e.g., demand-side response, storage) as a fundamental area where policy action is needed to support Clean Power by 2030 and Net Zero in 2050.
