Olamiposi Jinadu
Olamiposi (Ola) is a PhD researcher at the University of Aberdeen’s School of Law, where she previously obtained a master’s degree in international commercial law (with Professional Skills). She graduated from the University of Benin (Nigeria) in 2002 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), Scotland Branch.
Ola is a recipient of the School of Law’s PhD Merit Scholarship. Her research comparatively analyses the legal and regulatory framework governing the settlement of renewable energy disputes through international arbitration under the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Treaty, and the European Union (EU) under the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT).
Ola’s research interest is premised on the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) caseload against EU members states and the lessons the ECOWAS region can learn from the investors’ invocation of BITs or MITs, to achieve an improved investment climate and its goals of regional integration and sustainable development (in this era of energy transition).
