Professor Margaret Ross

Professor Margaret Ross is a solicitor in Scotland with experience of legal practice, court work, public service, chairing tribunals and university management. She first taught Dispute Resolution to undergraduate students in 1994. She links her research interests in evidence, procedures and mediation with civil justice contexts. She is the author of the revised edition of the leading treatise on the Scottish law of evidence. She led an independent review of the operation of InCourt Mediation pilots in Scotland. Her other publications include journal articles and book chapters about dispute resolution and the procedures of courts and professional bodies.

Professor Derek Auchie

Professor Derek Auchie is an academic, tribunal judge and qualified solicitor. He is Professor of Dispute Process Law, teaching the theory and practice of negotiation, mediation and arbitration. Derek uses his litigation experience to understand the full spectrum of resolution methods. Derek has served as mediator and arbitrator, and has adjudicated over 500 disputes as a tribunal judge. Derek is a Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Fellow and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is a Senior Fellow with JAMS, a US dispute resolution body. Derek is also on the Board of the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR).

Dr Gloria M Alvarez

Dr Gloria M Alvarez is an academic on international dispute resolution with extensive expertise in the energy and natural resources sectors. She is interested in international economic law, climate and social justice. Gloria has held prestigious academic fellowships at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Queen Mary University of London, Max Planck Institute and Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, University of Cambridge.

Dr Patricia Živković

Dr Patricia Živković is an academic specialising in international arbitration. Her expertise focuses on international dispute resolution, with an emphasis on international commercial arbitration. Patricia has worked in practice as an arbitration lawyer in Croatia and she actively fosters the usage of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms by co-chairing the Young Croatian Arbitration Practitioners, an association for younger members of the arbitration community in Croatia, which she also co-founded. Patricia also has a long experience of coaching students for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court.
