The team from Aberdeen University, comprised of Law School students: Diana Passinke, Joanna Mikucka and Penyo Ivanov and the coach Agnieszka Gronwald, distinguished itself in the prestigious “ELSA WTO Moot Court Competition” European round, which took place in Brno, Czech Republic between 6th and 10th of April. The team won an award for the Best Written Complainant Submission. This gives them the scholarship to study in the “International Economic Law and Policy” (IELPO) LL.M. Program at the University of Barcelona.
“ELSA WTO Moot Court Competition” is the biggest and most prestigious international competition on the law of World Trade Organisation and is under the patronage of the Director General of the WTO. Every year over 100 teams from five continents participate in the competition world-wide.
The University of Aberdeen team benefits from the support of the University of Aberdeen Law School’s Dean Office, and the Development Trust. John Lewis Department Store in Aberdeen proved indispensable support for the team in the competition, allowing them to participate in the regional round.
