The students vanquished the staff team in last night’s Law School Staff v Student Moot, preventing the staff from running up a hat trick of victories in the annual grudge match. In order to win, the students (acting for the University of Aberchirder, in the case of a student suing his university for poor teaching) successfully persuaded the judge, Lord Gordon, that students are a lazy feckless lot, happy to party all night then sleep through the day, then crawl into 4pm lectures to update their Facebook. Learning law, they argued, requires hard work and self-discipline. In the face of such arguments, in front of a packed house, the staff didn’t mind losing.
Victory for Students in the Staff v Student Moot!
