This year’s final of the University of Aberdeen Client Consultation Competition was held on 21 Janurary. Six Diploma in Professional Legal Practice students competed in teams of two before the external judges Anne-Maryse Churchill, partner at James & George Collie, and Feeza Morrison, in-house solicitor at Shell.
The winning team was the pairing of Natalie Bundy and Fraser Stewart. They will represent Aberdeen Law School in the Scottish final, which will also be hosted by the University of Aberdeen on 11 February. The winner of that competition will represent Scotland at the Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition in Lincoln, Nebraska in April.
Malcolm Combe, the lecturer who organised the internal final and is co-ordinating February’s Scottish final, said: “This is a great competition, allowing students to engage with crucial softer skills and introducing them to non-adversarial aspects of legal practice. Well done to Natalie and Fraser.
