Dr Momoh is cited by South Africa's Constitutional Court, the highest court in the land, in a recent judgment on appeal from the Supreme Court; The Ad Hoc Central Authority for the Republic of SA and Another v Koch N.O. and Another [2023] ZACC 37.
The case concerned the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, the interpretation of Article 13(b), and determination of the threshold for "grave risk" of psychological harm or an intolerable situation. The court referred to her expert report with regards to jurisdiction, parental rights and responsibilities, and the doctrine of forum conveniens.
Dr Momoh has long researched private international law (family law) and cross jurisdictional disputes, with a focus on children's rights and protection, gender equality and human rights. She was also recently recognised for excellence and contributions in law to the continent at the 25th Annual Gathering of Africa's Best (GAB Awards).
