The Law School was delighted to honour its high achieving students at a prize giving ceremony on Wednesday 28th June in the Old Senate Room, Old Aberdeen campus.
At the event, several LLB and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice students were recognised for their achievements.
The Theresa Hunt Excellence Prize in Public Law was presented by Alisdair Sutherland of Burness Paul to student Karolena Brown for the ‘Best UG Dissertation in Public Law’.
The Captain Michael G MacFarland Commander B S (Rattan-Takht) Ranjit Memorial Scholarship was presented to Melina Otifeh. Awarded by Dr Amrit MacFarland, this prize is given to the student who has demonstrated excellent academic grades over their Honours year and shown additional commitment to law through activities such as mooting, negotiating or advocacy.
The Society of Advocates in Aberdeen Williamson Prize is awarded to final year LLB (Honours) students for exceptional academic achievement in the dissertation. This year, 1st Prize was given to Murray Armitage and two 2nd Prize awards were given to Katie Clark and Ben Harvey.
Head of School, Professor Greg Gordon said “On behalf of my colleagues in the Law School, I’d like to congratulate the students receiving prizes this year. It is always a privilege to be able to recognise the hard work and commitment they have shown, and to celebrate their achievements in this way.
"I would also like to thank our prize donors for their generosity. Without their support these events would not be possible”.
