Dr Wifa interviewed by BBC Scotland on Scotland's Energy Transition Strategy & Just Transition plan

Following the release of the Scotland’s Energy Transition Strategy and Just Transition plan, Dr Eddy Wifa was interviewed by BBC Scotland on his thoughts. He opines that while there is some optimism with the release of the strategy as it seeks to balance the energy trilemma and indeed the quadrilemma, it has become apparent that the ongoing energy crisis makes things more complicated. He adds that with politics and stretched resources, only time will tell.

Energy Transition or the move to Net-Zero which essentially seeks to balance the twin challenges of energy security and climate change is without a doubt very challenging for a variety of reasons. The situation is further complicated by cost, market forces and other geopolitical issues. Perhaps that was the inspiration behind the recent cabinet reshuffling and the creation of the Department for Energy Security and Net-Zero.
