Dr Daria Shapovalova gave a paper at the conference co-organised by the University of Aberdeen and Coventry University - Gateway to a Golden Future: Oil, Gas and Energy Development in Guyana at Gray’s Inn, in London.
Daria’s paper focused on the protection of Guyana’s indigenous peoples’ rights in light of the upcoming oil boom. Daria also helped to organise the conference and will co-edit a special journal issue examining the regulatory framework governing the development of energy resources in Guyana.
The conference brought together academics and practitioners, and was co-chaired by the High Commissioner of Guyana in the UK.
