Dr Gloria Alvarez has been co-awarded a research grant by the UKERC as part of its Whole Systems Networking Fund.
The Whole Systems Fund is funded by the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) which aims to improve equality, communications and collaboration between those working in the field of whole systems energy.
The Fund is helping to develop best practice around networking, fostering better representation of UK capacity in whole systems energy research, encouraging fresh voices and building new working relationships within the community.
Dr Alvarez’s research project aims to further the role of law in delivering the low-carbon economy whilst exploring/improving definitions of ‘justice’ and the idea of a ‘just transition. This is a project undertaken in collaboration with Dr Darren McCauley (University of St Andrews) and under the leadership of Professor Raphael Heffron (University of Dundee).
The UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) carries out world-class research into sustainable future energy systems. UKERC acts a focal point for UK energy research and a gateway between the UK and the international energy research communities
