The School of Law and Baltimore/Maryland Summer School were privileged to be welcomed to the US Consulate General in Edinburgh yesterday evening.
Principal Officer Susan A Wilson hosted a reception for the Law School and the visiting students from the United States.
Guests included School of Law alumni Lady Leeona Dorrian QC, Lord Justice Clerk, Dr Greg Gordon (Head of the School of Law), Professor Barbara Bezdek (University of Maryland), Professor Michael Hayes (University of Baltimore) and Summer Program Coordinators, Anne-Michelle Slater (University of Aberdeen) and Dr Susan Stokeld (University of Aberdeen).
Guests enjoyed refreshments and speeches from Susan A Wilson, Professor Barbara Bezdek, Zachary Clemons, Dr Greg Gordon, and Lady Leeona Dorrian QC.
The event celebrated the connections between the University of Aberdeen’s School of Law, the University of Baltimore and University of Maryland.
The reception marked the end of a busy day for the Summer School participants in Edinburgh. The day included a trip to Parliament House and the Scottish Parliament.
The Summer School is accredited by the American Bar Association and has been running continuously for the last 32 years. The Summer School subjects this year are: Comparative Torts in context and Comparative Property and Contract law in times of extraordinary change.
