The University of Aberdeen’s Legal Research Society recently hosted the first joint postgraduate conference with Robert Gordon University (RGU) at the Sir Duncan Rice Library.
The event was opened by the Head of the University’s Law School, Anne-Michelle Slater, while Dr Roy Partain, Director of Postgraduate Research, delivered the keynote speech.
Around 30 students heard six presentations covering a diverse range of topics, from prisoners’ voting rights in Oman to international commercial arbitration, following which there were a series of of lively question and answer sessions.
Stephanie Dropuljic, President of the Legal Research Society, said: “Each presentation was of a really high standard, and the discussions that followed were equally as informative.
“I’d like to thank Anne-Michelle and Roy for their valuable contributions and I’d also like to thank all those who came along for helping make the evening such an excellent success.
“We are now in positive discussions with our friends at RGU in the hope that we can make this an annual event, and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
