Abstract:
On the professorial level women are still underrepresented in legal academia in Germany: less than 20% of all law professors are women. The problem has been discussed for more than two decades. Different measures have been taken. Books on gender studies fill whole libraries. Yet, the number of women on the professoral level in law has only risen slightly. In his presentation, Phillip Hellwege will argue that after decades of discussions we still do not know the reasons why we have so few women on the professorial level in law.
