On 3-5 September 2024, the Society of Legal Scholars (SLS) Annual Conference took place in Bristol. Three of our Centre members contributed to the Conference’s Conflict of Laws section. Dr Michiel Poesen and Dr Patricia Živković took up the co-convenorship of the section for a duration of three years. Dr Francesca Farrington gave a paper on the role of comity in foreign direct liability litigation. The Conflict of Laws Section, which featured three panels over two consecutive days, proved to be a valuable forum for insightful discussion on an array of topics, ranging from digital assets, service of proceedings through social media, to the interplay between conflict of laws and arbitration.
