On 27-28 February, our Dr Gloria Alvarez and Dr Daria Shapovalova represented the Law School at the annual 'Energy Transitions' conference in Joensuu, Finland. The conference brought together energy law academics and practitioners from around the world and the theme this year was ‘Achieving Just Energy Transitions through Law and Policy: Challenges and Solutions’.
Dr Alvarez chaired a session on international developments in the gas sector and delivered a talk on 'The Present and the Future of the Energy Charter Treaty'. Dr Shapovalova presented her work on Ukrainain eklectricity market liberalisation; and the climate impact assessment for fossil fuel developments.
