Building on their previous experience at the competition, a group of Aberdeen Law and Legal Studies students have reached the final 20 in this renowned European Mooting competition, taking place in May.
A team of University of Aberdeen Law and European Legal Studies students have reached the final round in the prestigious European Human Rights Moot Court Competition which will take place in the illustrious Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg from May 1st to 5th 2018. Coached by Lucas Xi-Ming Fischer, and captained by Diana Passinke the team: - Harry Johnston, Thomas Mackie, and Benjamin Jones will travel to Strasbourg to represent the University and the Aberdeen branch of ELSA. The team have built on their wide ranging experiences gained both at Aberdeen University, the Aberdeen Law Project; and exchanges at Beijing Normal University, Aarhus University, Vienna University of Economics and Business and the Thomas R. Kline School of Law together with previous participation in the WTO Moot Court Competition.

The European Human Rights Moot Court Competition is an internationally recognised highly competitive event. It provides not only the opportunity to test legal abilities against Europe's elite, but also provides an opportunity to network with Human Rights specialists and, the unique experience of advocating in the Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
The competition will take place over 4 days starting with the preliminary rounds where 20 teams will compete. The quarter-finals consist of 8 teams, with 4 teams proceeding to the semi-finals, and two teams to the grand final.
