The full-day workshop is designed to introduce students to the process of approaching and writing a research proposal for a postdoctoral application. In the first part of the event, we will provide an overview of postdoctoral fellowship opportunities in the UK, the EU, and internationally. We will then host a roundtable with previous successful applicants of postdoctoral fellowships, who will share their experiences and tips with participants. In the afternoon, there will be a hands-on activity where attendees will be challenged to work on key aspects of a research application, including writing sprints and mock reviews of drafts.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To ensure the workshop is effective, all participants are required to prepare a 250-word abstract of a hypothetical postdoctoral application ahead of the event. The goal of the workshop is to get useful feedback on the application process and elements to consider in future applications.
