On 31 May 2024, the Law School will be holding a book launch event in memory of the late Professor Jonathan Fitchen - a former Director of the Aberdeen Centre for Private International Law and a distinguished private international law scholar, who passed away after a brief illness on the 22nd of January 2021. In honour of Professor Fitchen's work and life, his former colleagues Prof Justin Borg-Barthet, Prof Katarina Trimmings, Prof Burcu Yüksel Ripley and Dr Patricia Živković have compiled an edited book collection titled "From Theory to Practice in Private International Law: Gedächtnisschrift for Professor Jonathan Fitchen". This book brings together preeminent scholars from across the private international law world to address a wide spectrum of subject matter in the discipline. For more information see here.
