Back in 2018, I applied and received my offer to study at the University of Aberdeen. While searching for postgraduate studies, I found this Silver City and University. It is a top-ranking School of Law in the UK, and one of the ancient universities, within a fascinating city. In September 2020, I was here to pursue my postgraduate degree, in a difficult situation: the pandemic.
Whilst here, I realised that I made the right choice when I had my first seminar with the legendary Professor Peter Duff, one of my reasons to be here. The education system is entirely different from the system I am used to - the Pakistani education system - where you have to trust your memory compared to the analytical skills required here. The University is so cooperative with all students in this pandemic, since it is not easy for them to cope with their deadlines. The administration staff are excellent.
Although the pandemic hit everybody, I took it as a challenge to test my nerves, and I am delighted to have coped well with the situation - until the end where I had some issues. The University support programme for this pandemic helped me immensely, providing a flexible working atmosphere for my studies and deadlines; if it was not there, I might have lost my way and left the programme.
Not only does it have the best educational setup, this city is also a paradise for peace and nature lovers. It has a beach, rivers, coastal walks and castles in its surroundings. It has terrific parks; Seaton Park is my favourite as it is a combination of hills, grassy field, natural reservoirs and a river in one place.
