Toolkit

The Toolkit was created to help students and staff at the University of Aberdeen learn new digital skills, understand how to use University software, discover useful apps and explore University services. This University Support Portal includes walkthroughs, tutorials, course overviews, introductions, software and much more!

How do I access the Toolkit?: Whatever device you're using, just go to abdn.ac.uk/toolkit
What kind of content will I find?: We now have over 130 resources, which you can browse by type, user group or alphabetical order. The content within each resource does vary, but most feature videos, written PDF guides, infographic posters and links to further reading.

Our aim is to design, develop and deliver content that is relevant to you, so let us know what we can do better to support you!

What do the different coloured tools mean?: We have grouped Toolkit content into four areas, each represented by a different colour theme:

Pink resources are Digital Skills - generic resources to help you upskill and keep pace with the ever changing digital landscape

Gold resources are University Systems and Software - support for using systems and software specific to the University of Aberdeen

Green resources are University Services and Schools - introductions to key services at the University of Aberdeen and School-based content from areas such as the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition and Postgraduate Research.

Blue resources are all Productivity Tools - assistive technology and other apps to help you manage and organise your work
How was the Toolkit built?: Our in-house Web Team developed the Toolkit architecture which was designed by Colin Denholm and Zee Allison.
