What is happening?
On Sunday the 12th July 2009, the University Office Computer Room has to undergo some urgent power maintenance, to repair a faulty piece of equipment. As a direct result of this, the power will have to be shutdown, in the computer room facility, from 8am through until 5pm Sunday 12th July 2009. Most of the services provided from this facility are will not be available during this period. However, the following services will continue to be available:
• Email
• Internet access including the University web site
• Staff file storage facilities
• Printing
What should you do?
Do NOT attempt to use any of the unavailable systems during this period, their availability cannot be guaranteed.
If you intend to work on Sunday 12th July, on any of the available systems, you should regularly save your work. As a precaution you may choose to save your work on your local hard drive. This will ensure that any files that you are currently working on are kept up to date. DIT staff will be on-site to monitor the situation during this time.
