What is happening
- The ZendTo large file transfer service is now back online and available for use - https://zendto.abdn.ac.uk/
- The maximum file upload on ZendTo is 20GB per file or 20GB for the total drop-off.

Data encryption and confidential data
- We strongly recommend you encrypt all data before transferring via ZendTo, and that you communicate the password by a different route.
- It is mandatory to encrypt ALL files containing sensitive or personal data.

What happened
- We took the ZendTo large file transfer service offline on 14 September 2021.
- This was due to a significant software fault with the potential to cause a data protection incident.
- We have now updated, secured, and fully tested ZendTo, and the University Data Protection Team have approved reinstating the service.
