Network maintenance on Tuesday 14 September between 9am and 7pm
What is happening?
There will be IT network maintenance that may affect you on Tuesday 14 September between 9am and 7pm.
Impact of the changes
There should be no noticeable impact to most University servers, desktop systems, networks and services.
There is a small risk of loss of network connectivity, particularly after 5.30pm, for short periods of up to 10 minutes.
The buildings that will definitely lose network connectivity for short periods during the working day are:
- Cruickshank Building
- 17 High St - Chaplaincy
- 91 High Street
- Rocking Horse nursery
- Humanities Manse
- 9a Dunbar Street
- Heating Station
- Kings Hall
- Crombie Hall
Why is this happening?
This maintenance is to make critical changes in relation to the University core network. The changes are required to migrate network connections from old unsupported network hardware to new fully supported hardware.
The reasons this is happening during a working day are:
- We need support from the hardware provider.
- We require our own experts online should there be an unplanned outage
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
