We will be upgrading to the latest version of Panopto Recorder from 8 July onwards.
What do I need to do?
University managed devices
If you use Panopto Recorder on a University managed device, you don’t need to do anything. We’ll push the upgrade to your device automatically.
Personal devices
If you use Panopto Recorder on a personal device, you will see a warning prompt telling you that the Recorder version is out of date.
We advise you to upgrade as soon as possible to ensure you have the latest bug fixes, security patches, and product capabilities.
To download and install the upgrade on personal Windows and Mac devices, either:
- Click on the pop-up banner you’ll see after opening the Panopto software and follow the instructions for your device
or
- Go to https://abdn.cloud.panopto.eu
- Sign in via MyAberdeen
- Click Download Panopto (top right of video library) and follow the instructions for your device
Once installation is complete, Panopto will launch and you can begin recording. You may be prompted to enter the server address. If so, enter: abdn.cloud.panopto.eu
