Radiation Protection
The use of radioisotopes is strictly controlled. The rules governing this use and the procedures to be used are laid out in the Ionising Radiation Safety Arrangements and IMS Local Rules for Ionising Radiation, can be found on the Safety resources page and must be adhered to.
They are overseen by the Radiation Protection Adviser, Stephen McCallum, and the Radiation Protection Supervisors (Lead RPS for IMS is Dana Wilson; RPSs – Fiona Murray and Ian Fleming (IMS) and Gary Cameron (Polwarth)).
If you are working in a radiation area, then safety procedures specific to your area or lab are contained in local rules, and you must follow these instructions.
