Iain Fraser Cytometry Centre
On 21st February 2014 the Flow Cytometry Facility at Aberdeeen University was renamed the Iain Fraser Cytometry Centre (IFCC) in recognition of the major contribution Saving Sight in Grampian has made over the years towards the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment for the Centre. The flow cytometer is an item of equipment which is used to diagnose variations in disease activity in patients with many conditions including eye diseases. The University of Aberdeen and Saving Sight in Grampian have contributed a significant amount of money to the purchase of a new flow cytometer/cell sorter which is having a major impact on research into the causes of many diseases including eye diseases.
