The group has published our annual roundup of news, research and events from the past year.
While 2021 was again a challenging time for everyone, we again followed the pattern set in 2020 with another very successful year for the group. Not only were some key research findings published, such as the results of the MAmMOTH trial, but we also continued to grow our research programme with several successful grants leading to the startup of some exciting projects including the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy funded UK Antimicrobial Registry (UKAR), as well as several studies concerning the impact of pain and musculoskeletal conditions on work ability.
In other areas of work, we successfully held our 28th annual Intensive Course in Applied Epidemiology, moving to an online format for the first time, and started our own Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) group in order to ensure that our research best serves those who stand to benefit from it. We said goodbye to a number of long-term colleagues, but also saw a whole host of fresh faces join our ever-evolving team, and look set to continue to grow in 2022.
