I am one of the Public Involvement Partnership Group Volunteers at ACE. I am looking forward to becoming involved in various projects and public engagement activities. I have a real interest in research projects within public health. I am looking forward to learning from these research projects as well as providing my own input from my professional and personal skills and experience to contribute to the research undertaken at ACE.
- Tell us a bit about your background and what you do now
-
Born in Ireland, I moved to Aberdeen almost fifteen years ago to study and never left! I am a mum of two young children who works in public health across Aberdeenshire, and who has always enjoyed volunteering whenever possible. I was a Children’s’ Panel member for two years, have been an alumni mentor at the Robert Gordon University, and spent time helping the TLC charity with their food banks and breakfast clubs. I am neurodivergent, having been diagnosed with dyslexia and dyspraxia while at university, and earlier this year as autistic.
- What is your favourite thing about your role in ACE?
-
I am looking forward to meeting all the other volunteers, staff and finding out about current project opportunities.
- How do you usually start your day?
-
I need a strong coffee (or two) and a half an hour to myself in the morning to wake up.
- How do you relax?
-
Once the girls are in bed, after a busy day at work or being a mum, I love to head to the gym, weight training and calisthenics is time I enjoy to myself.
- What was the last thing you posted on your social media profiles?
