On the 22nd and 23rd of May at the University's May Festival we put on an activity called "A Trial at Sea! How to find out which medicines work best". In it we re-enacted James Lind's first clinical trial with classes of local schoolchildren.

Celebrations for International Clinical Trials Day 2018
The 20th May 2018 was International Clinical Trials Day. This date is chosen to celebrate the life changing work of Dr James Lind - who is credited with organising the first clinical trial in 1747 - in an attempt to discover the best treatment for scurvy.

Applications are now being accepted for HSRU 2018 Summer Internships.
There are a total of six placements available to University of Aberdeen students for a period of between 6 and 8 weeks, starting June/July 2018 by negotiation. The 2016 and 2017 student placements were very successful with positive feedback from students and staff alike (http://www.abdn.ac.uk/hsru/news/9937/).
