On 23 August 2016, staff from CHaRT facilitated a one day workshop on the Design and conduct of randomised controlled trials of behavioural change interventions.
The workshop attracted 30 delegates who were attending the European Health Psychology Society and British Psychological Society Division of Health Psychology Conference 2016.
The workshop was practical and drew on real-life examples of how to (and how not to) design and conduct publicly funded multicentre pragmatic RCTs, applied to behavioural change interventions. The morning session focused on the design of simple and complex RCTs. The afternoon session focused on practical aspects of trial conduct such as study start-up, data management, recruitment and retention, and study close-down and reporting.
