Social Lunch and Linkee Game
Tuesday 3 December, 12.30pm. There’s still time to sign up for this if you’re interested. If you fancy lunch from Social Bite (who put 100% of their profits towards ending homelessness in Scotland) then have a look at the menu (https://social-bite.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/SB_Delivers-Menu_Sep2019_WEB.pdf) and give your order and money to Karen, Anne or Tracey. If you don’t fancy getting lunch from Social Bite, you can still join us – just let us know that you want to and then bring your own lunch on the day.
Christmas lunch:
Tuesday 10 December, Atholl Hotel, from 12 noon. If you haven’t made your menu choices yet, let Karen Innes know as soon as possible. There are also still a couple of places left if you meant to sign up but forgot – again, speak to Karen if you’re interested. There will be entertainment organised by the Social Committee between courses and I’m sure it’ll be a great afternoon!
Instant Neighbour Giving Tree Appeal
For those who might not have been here last year, Instant Neighbour run this campaign every year and we’ve supported it in previous years. It aims to distribute gifts to children across Aberdeen City & Shire who otherwise would not receive a gift this Christmas. You can pick up a tag, which has on it the gender and age of the child, from Patrycja or Bev, and gifts need to be with us before 3 December as Instant Neighbour will be collecting them on that date.
Food Bank Collection
As in previous years, we’re supporting the Integrate Scotland food bank this year. Integrate support over 400 individuals across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire and provide a vital service to those who may be struggling a little at the moment. The list of what they are most in need of (‘Storehouse 2019’) is attached and if you’d like to make a donation there are boxes by reception. All donations need to be in by 17 December.
Health Sciences Building Christmas Party
Following the success of last year’s event, we’re again working with representatives of other groups based in the building to organise a joint event. Details will be circulated in due course.
As you can see, we have a lot of things going on and even more things planned for the New Year. If you’d like to join the Social Committee and help influence what activities we put on, please speak to any member of the committee.
