The NHS Scotland Event 2019 is the leading health event in Scotland. It brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, charities, senior leader and key decision-makers in NHS Scotland working together to improve health outcomes and delivery high quality care and social care services for those living in Scotland.
This year the event took place on the 30th and 31st of May and was attended by 2,500 delegates (25% more than 2018). There were almost 90 stands there as well as more than 230 poster displays. Workshops and posters focused on a variety of topics including implementation of treatments in the NHS, person-led approaches to transforming health and social care services and delivering digital services in the NHS. Of particular note, there was an impressive integration of health and social care being presented by Aberdeenshire Council that is a potential template for the whole of Scotland.
Representing the unit were our director, Craig Ramsay, business manager, Anne Buckle, and one of our staff members, Beatriz Goulao. Lots of delegates showed interested in our work and we discussed our findings, and made lots of contacts and connections for future collaboration.
