Members of the Health Services Research Unit feature in a new video about their recent event "A Trial at Sea! How to find out which medicines work best."
At this year’s University of Aberdeen May Festival, a re-enactment for schoolchildren of Dr James Lind’s first clinical trial, led by HSRU’s Public Engagement Group (PEG), was successfully captured on film by the University of Aberdeen’s Media Services and is now available on YouTube.
The video features the staples of HSRU public engagement events: hand’s on interaction, lots of costumes and plenty of noise and fun. Maga Aceves (Research Fellow) and Gordon Fernie (Trial manager) talk about the ancillary benefits of running such events such as facilitating interaction amongst colleagues who otherwise would not necessarily work together, as well as the necessity to think about the language we use to describe what we do.
