We were delighted to welcome back Dr Rebecca Walwyn to the Unit for a day visit. Rebecca is a Principal Statistician at Clinical Trials Research Unit, at the University of Leeds.
Rebecca holds a PhD in Biostatistics (University of Manchester) and has expertise in the design and analysis of complex intervention trials. She will be collaborating with the unit and in particular with Beatriz Goulao in methodology research around complex designs in randomised controlled trials. Our main aim of the visit was discussing such complex designs and their applications, as well as having two seminars about this topic. Rebecca presented about Maximising the efficiency of, and the information from, the research pathway for evaluating complex interventions at our Institute of Applied Health Sciences seminar and about Beyond standard factorial designs: Building on design of experiments methodology for clinical trials of complex interventions at our local Royal Statistical Society meeting.
