Our last HERU blog post of the year looks at a study on couples' preferences for embryo transfer in IVF (in vitro fertilisation). The study involved researchers from the University of Aberdeen, including HERU, and the Aberdeen Fertility Centre at NHS Grampian.
The research used a discrete choice experiment (DCE) to explore couples' preferences for fresh or frozen embryo transfer. It was found that the groups in the study had different views on which factors were most important. The authors go onto recommend individualised care and the development of a risk assessment tool to guide decisions.
We've highlighted the article after it was chosen as a Twitter journal club item by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
