The September 2019 HERU newsletter has been published. In the newsletter we reflect on our summer activity, including hosting our summer interns and visitors to the unit, and highlight several conference events that HERU staff and students attended. We also feature some recently funded research:
The Chief Scientist Office (CSO) have funded a health economic analysis on whole genomic sequencing for the diagnosis of rare disorders in Scotland; and an examination of unintended consequences for diet and health following the introduction of minimum unit pricing for alcohol in Scotland.
We are also involved in research, funded by the Productivity Insights Network, exploring the link between insecure employment and mental health outcomes; and a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded trial to assess the clinical and cost-effectiveness of long-term Gonadotrophin Releasing hormone (GnRH) analogues in the treatment of women who experience recurrence of pain after surgery for endometriosis.
