Title: Food standard hygiene rating data: a longitudinal data set to evaluate changes in the food environment over time.
Abstract: This presentation will outline several ongoing projects related to evaluating the impact of the food environment on health and health inequalities. I will start by discussing the Food Standard Agency Hygiene Rating Data, how and by whom it is collected and how it can be accessed. Then I will briefly outline some of our validity work that we are doing around using this data for academic research. Finally, I will show some of our findings on the relationship between unhealthy food outlets and schools and the type of food outlets and area level deprivation.
