Title: What can simulations tell us about DCE design performance?
Abstract: In this presentation, after briefly recalling what a discrete choice experiment (DCE) is, two simulation studies will be considered. In the first the performance of the 10 Bayesian optimal designs described in Kessels et al (2011) is considered for a range of prior values. This study suggests that the internal structure of the designs has a considerable bearing on design performance. In the second study designs with a mix of binary and quaternary attributes are considered using both simulations and in the field.
