Identifying, Appraising and Applying Health Economics Evidence for Public Health

Speakers: Paul McNamee, Graham Scotland, Aileen Neilson, Stirling Bryan (HERU) and Cynthia Fraser (HSRU).

SummaryThe course provides an introduction to the identification, appraisal and application of economic evidence in health care.

Attendees included health care planners, finance directors and other health care managers. No prior experience in economic evaluation is required to participate in the course.

Presentations were given on introducing, identifying and critically appraising economic evaluations. Presentations will be followed up by group work sessions on appraising published papers and applying the findings locally. 

Participants were able to present case studies from their own experience and obtain feedback from other participants and presenters.
