Over the past year, regular gifts from generous alumni around the world have had a significant impact on our students as they combine their studies with extracurricular activities and receive the vital support they need to overcome challenges they experience.
Gifts have continued to support the Sports Bursary Scheme which develops the talents of our most promising athletes, and enabled the Multi faith Chaplaincy to organise regular student cafes and lunches, creating a sense of community and belonging which is especially valuable for our most vulnerable students.
Alumni regular giving has also provided funding for our Careers & Employability Service to organise a series of events to showcase different career options for students who find it challenging to identify their career goals, and for the Consent Awareness & Sexual Education group to continue their campaign to highlight awareness through workshops and discussions.
Music at the University has continued to benefit from alumni support. The Chamber Choir organised a full programme of events including a tour of Northern Ireland, the Musical Medics Society performed their much-loved Christmas Concert and the Music Department organised 'Scenes & Sessions: From Writing to Recording Film Music' for students with the support of industry experts. Funding enabled two music residencies which are crucial for the development of our students, allowing them to learn from and perform alongside professional musicians and the University Symphony Orchestra was able to hire professional coaching support.
Student clubs and societies who received funding included the Shinty Club, the A Cappella Society, the Calisthenics Club, the Cineclub and the Archery Society.
Our alumni regular donors make it possible for these activities to continue and grow and also help offer scholarships to talented students who require financial support. Your kindness helps enrich the experience of our students every year.
