Dr. Rachel Brackenridge, the Programme Director of the MSc Integrated Petroleum Geoscience will host a sample lecture.

In 2019, the UK became the first major economy to commit to net zero emissions by 2050. However, balancing energy demand with limited emissions is a monumental challenge. After 50+ years of exploration and production, what role will North Sea oil and gas play in achieving Net Zero? And how can geoscientists contribute to the Transition? This Little Lecture will examine the role that the prolific North Sea Petroleum Basin will play through the Energy Transition.

Dr. Rachel Brackenridge is the Programme Director of the MSc Integrated Petroleum Geoscience and will outline the continuing need, and demand, for exceptional geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers to enter the energy industry.
