Dr Gordon Noble and Dr Joshua Wright will present recent work and discoveries from their field programs in Scotland and Mongolia.
Two field projects based at University of Aberdeen's Archaeology department are both addressing the construction of political power in northern regions. How did these rulers maintain their power locally and thrive? How did their societies prosper in the shadow of larger and more populous regions to their souths?
These two brief talks will introduce stunning metallurgical production remains and further fieldwork from The Northern Picts Project and enigmatic and never before documented Bronze Age monumental landscapes from the Gobi desert.
