The University hosted a visit this morning from representatives of the British University of Egypt (BUE) to discuss opportunities for collaboration, starting with Engineering and Geology, but with potential to look at a broader range of disciplines.
Discussions went well and it is hoped that a long term collaborative relationship will develop as a result.
The BUE group included:
- Professor Ahmad Hamza, President of BUE
- Professor Yehia Bahei-El-Din, Dean of Engineering
- Professor Attia M. Attia, Head of Petroleum Eng. and Gas Technology
- Dr Trevor Webb, Registrar
They were accompanied by Dr Hadi Fawzy, Senior Executive, Middle East and Africa, Energy, Scottish Development International
The group met a broad group of staff and Professor Hamza presented Professor Ian Diamond, University Principal and Vice-Chancellor, with a rug as a momento.
